How Can PGL Work for Me?

At PGL, we firmly believe that we offer more than just a job. Over the last 52 years we have employed thousands of people in a variety of roles. Many have progressed on to amazing careers outside of PGL and many have worked their way up the PGL ladder. Three of our seven Directors (Operations, Commercial and Corporate Affairs) started their PGL careers delivering sessions, emptying bins and clearing away tables.

We are aware that for some people, PGL will be a short-term commitment and for others it will be a lifelong career. Either way, we truly believe that the skills you gain whilst at PGL will be with you for life and can give you that competitive edge when it comes to moving on.

In addition to the qualifications you may pick up, the real skills will be how you interact with others, how you lead, motivate and inspire people of all ages, your ability to stay calm and think on your feet, your attention to detail and your commitment to making a difference. It is true to say that when you leave PGL, your CV will be bursting at the seams with skills and competencies that any employer will be delighted to benefit from.

Spend Your Gap Year with PGL

Working for PGL is an ideal way to spend your Gap Year. Many of our staff do exactly this and come to PGL either before heading off to university or once they have finished their studies. Our roles can be incredibly rewarding and will give you loads of transferable skills for your CV.

This gives you the ideal opportunity to reflect on what the future holds, whilst at the same time earn some money, makes some new friends and maybe even pick up a few qualifications along the way.

Whilst we don't usually have staff intakes just for the summer months, we do have start dates throughout the first half of the year, particularly in February, March and April, as well as a small number of August starts.

Many of our senior members of staff came to work for PGL 'just for one season' and have stayed ever since! 

Career Break

One thing is for sure: working for PGL will be quite unlike any other job you've previously held! For starters, we avoid suits and ties wherever possible, we call everyone by their first name and we all passionately believe in making a difference. Regardless of whether you work in the office, deliver activity sessions, serve up food, make beds or mow the lawn, you'll be touched by the difference a PGL holiday can have on a child and that's why you'll want to give it 100%
