All of our Canoe Instructors undergo a comprehensive training programme when they first join PGL. You will be enrolled on to our 10 day pre-employment Activity Instructor training and selection course (usually at our Boreatton Park centre in Shropshire) before heading out to Southern France or Spain.Depending on your existing qualifications, you may be invited to join our four week pre-season UKCC training and assessment course held in April in the Ardèche. Training courses are free of charge providing you complete your contract of employment with PGL. You will have to pay for your assessment and membership of the relevant National Governing Body.As a Canoe Instructor, you'll work towards the Level 2 Award in Introductory Work in the Outdoors, as the first level of the PGL Apprenticeship Scheme. On completion of this 34 week programme, you'll have the chance to apply for a place on the Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship in Active Leisure and Learning.
