All of our Canoe Instructors undergo a comprehensive training programme when they first join PGL. If you’re working in the UK you will be enrolled on to our 10 day pre-employment training and selection course (usually at Boreatton Park). Here, you’ll find out more about your role and will be given some core training that will be built upon once at your place of work. If you're working at our centres in Southern France or Spain, depending on your existing qualifications, you may be invited to join our four week pre-season BCU training and assessment course held in April in the Ardeche. Your aptitude, personal preference, skills and experience will determine whether your role will be made up of purely instructing activities, or more pastoral duties, which may include a mix of instructing and organising evening entertainments.Training courses are free of charge providing you complete your contract of employment with PGL. You will have to pay for your assessment and membership of the relevant National Governing Body.
