Nik Harris, Osmington Bay

Nik says: I take the teaching of geology, geography, biology and science from the school classroom to the Osmington Bay centre and off-site trips.  I liaise with teachers and tailor sessions to fit the group, with the age of the guests ranging from 7 to 18 years old.  I also run taster sessions in activities such as abseil and archery.

After gaining a Masters degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation, I jumped at the chance to work outside and also to be able to do a mixture of field studies and taster activity sessions.

From working at PGL, I have gained in confidence when it comes to doing presentations to large groups, especially ‘A’ Level students and in my ability to co-ordinate groups’ off-site field trips.  I have enjoyed instructing and found the job to be great fun.
