Receptionist

This position involves a variety of functional and administrative tasks, as well as being the first point of contact for visitors to the centre. The Receptionist often acts as a catalyst ensuring that information is passed between all departments.

Amy Rorich, Little Canada

Amy says: I deal with phone enquiries and the arrivals and departures of our guests, which can be up to 650 people at peak times. I also look after the lost property. It seemed like a fun, energetic environment to work in.

I first came to Little Canada as an Activity Instructor in 2005 and have spent the past two seasons as the Receptionist. I think people should come along and try PGL for themselves. If you find that you don’t enjoy the job role or location then there are other departments and centres to work in. Instructing wasn’t for me so I became a Receptionist.

I love my job (most of the time!) so don’t see any reason to change it. I have a great laugh and never dislike going to work. I’m also doing a paragliding instructors course out of work which should give me an excuse to go to hotter climates when we close in winter!

As well as gaining better and more customer service skills, I’ve got lots of new friends – who are now my extended family!
