Training Officer

We're looking for a suitably experienced individual to join our Head Office Training Team and deliver our nationally-recognised Apprenticeship programme and centre-based Introductory Programme to our activity centre staff.

Training Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver training to Apprenticeship candidates from registration, and support them through to certification of their framework.
  • Carry out Assessment and Verification duties as directed by the Apprenticeship Programme Manager on ‘Assessment and Verification Structure’.
  • Carry out regular centre support visits to designated centres and as directed by the Apprenticeship Programme Manager.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Operations team via agreed communication channels.
  • Support Centre Managers, senior teams and on-centre assessors in all aspects of the successful delivery of the PGL products and related systems, in accordance with current occupational competence.
  • Assume the role of Course Co-ordinator throughout the duration of the winter training period for Sport and Recreation Apprenticeship programme(s).
  • Maintain administrative records to the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Contribute towards the achievement of company objectives through (specific) inter-departmental working parties and project teams.
  • In conjunction with the PGL Recruitment Officers, offer advice on PGL careers and courses to PGL staff.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate, deliver and quality assure In-house Training Programmes, as designated by the Apprenticeship Programme Manager, ensuring the highest  standard and most cost effective delivery.
  • Co-ordinate, deliver and quality assure the Company’s First Aid provision across all levels of the business ensuring cost effectiveness and centre establishment fill.

Communication Responsibilities

  • To build effective working relationships with those in other departments.
  • Liaise effectively with NGBs, Awarding Bodies and external organisations in order to ensure timely achievement of awards and qualifications which you are delivering.

Personal Development Responsibilities

  • To continue to develop own knowledge and skills in order to keep up with changes in technology, ways of working and changes in customer expectations.
  • To regularly review own targets and work towards the achievement of agreed objectives.
  • Successfully complete personal development awards and maintain CPD records related to your job role.
