Barton Hall

Paul Ager-Parkinson - Barton Hall General ManagerWe very much look forward to welcoming you to Barton Hall.

Easily reached and self-contained, Barton Hall offers an exciting range of activities that will stimulate, motivate and challenge primary pupils - all in an environment where safety is paramount. Dartmoor National Park and the South Devon Coastline are both nearby, offering some of the best locations to get some ‘hands on’ outdoor learning.

In addition to outdoor activities, Barton Hall offers plenty of indoor space which can be utilised by schools to support their own free-time activities or where pupils can just relax. Such spaces also make the centre a good “all weather” location.

You’ll find the centre team friendly and welcoming with an eagerness to ensure you and your pupils have the very best residential experience. Many of us have fond memories of similar trips ourselves and appreciate a visit to Barton Hall will be among the most memorable experiences in a child’s school life. Every day is a hive of activity from dawn to dusk - so don’t be surprised if you find you and your pupils following your PGL ‘Groupie’ and singing your way to breakfast!

Our accommodation areas are comfortable places for friends and classmates to learn to live together for the duration of their visit. All rooms are en suite, mainly sleeping 4-6 pupils per room, with teachers’ accommodation carefully positioned close at hand. Following recent feedback, we’ve also invested in our bathrooms for this season, with many more now fitted with showers!

Food is another important part of any residential experience. You may rest assured that your pupils will be able to choose from a range of fresh, tasty, nutritious and appealing meals three times a day - all carefully prepared by my Catering Team - and enjoyed in our recently refurbished dining room.

For teachers, we have a new lounge available this season. Overlooking the heart of the centre, the Sun Lounge is a place for you to relax for a few minutes and watch the centre in action whilst enjoying complimentary tea and coffee, daily newspapers and even a few minutes’ TV.

The heart of PGL’s ethos is to “change young people’s attitudes to the outdoors and exercise” and my team is committed to working with you to ensure you and your pupils have a memorable and enjoyable stay at Barton Hall that will make a difference.

I hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you personally to Barton Hall in the near future!
