4.  Arromanches 360  ̊ Cinema

A short film, ‘Price of Freedom’  is shown on nine surrounding screens which plunge you into the middle of the action centred around the WWII Normandy landings. Fly over the Pointe du Hoc, float along the pontoons and go right into the heart of the  bunkers.

5. Musée du Débarquement

The Arromanches Museum ,with its collection of equipment and memorabilia to explore,  is a ‘must-do’ visit  - along with the Invasion Beaches.


       

6. Mont St Michel

Known as the  ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the Benedictine Abbey, church and surrounding buildings  have perched on the tidal island in the English Channel for over 1300 years. Best combined with a visit to Fougères.

7. Market visit- Préparez à Manger

Visit a traditional local market  and practise your French whilst purchasing some fresh local produce.

8. Colleville-Sur-Mer 

Visit the peaceful St Laurent American War Cemetery where the perfectly alligned white crosses invite you to reflect and remember  the solidiers that lost their lives during the D-Day Landing.       

9. Goat Cheese Farm

Experience  the cheese-making process during a guided visit, in French, of this family-run farm which supplies its produce to over 120 restaurants.

10. Bayeux Tapestry

This 270 foot long depiction of the events leading up to, and including, the battle of Hastings is on permanent display in the city of Bayeux. An audio-guide tells the story of the tapestry as you view it. Often combined with a visit to the D-Day Landing Beaches.
