Loch Ranza Field Studies Centre
Loch Ranza, on the Isle of Arran is PGL’s specialist Field Studies centre, catering for a wide range of courses including Geography, Geology, Biology and Environmental Science. Ardrossan Harbour is less than 1 hour by rail from Glasgow and the ferry crossing to Brodick takes approximately 55 minutes.
Loch Ranza is primarily a Field Studies centre and does not have the customary range of activity options on site. However mountain biking, orienteering, pony trekking and abseiling are available should you wish to add them to your programme.
Most groups dedicate their entire stay at the centre to field study. Your itinerary will be fully tailored to meet your requirements. Evenings are spent on follow up work, or entertainment is provided.
Additional Course Information: Joint Biology & Geography courses are available on request. Environmental Studies can be adapted to include projects, investigations and/or key skills.

PGL Field Studies courses take place in some of the most outstanding study locations around the UK. From the Isle of Arran to the Jurassic Coast, they are versatile and suitable for study right up to A-Level/Higher Grade requirements. Modules are tailor made to meet the needs of the five major exam boards - WJEC, OCR, Edexcel SQA and AQA.
