5 days, GCSE / Standard Grade
Day 1: Arrival and course introduction, Start of river descent & introduction to fluvial landscapes in the Ardèche Gorge.
Day 2: River descent & fluvial landscape study.
Day 3: Woodland ecology - hike around the Gorge investigating local vegetation.
Day 4: High ropes, archery & orienteering
Day 5: Tourism: Assets & Conflicts - compare 2 local settlements investigating impact of tourism on social, economic and physical structures.
Day 6: Alternative Energy Technology - tour of nuclear power station, see a wind farm and discuss French Energy Policy. Depart for journey home from final site.
