Camping la Clapière

A partner centre on the shore of Lake Serre Ponçon in the Southern French Alps. The centre's position provides the backdrop for an excellent range of challenging field studies modules incuding human geography, physical geography, geology and biology.

Sample itinerary: GCSE /Standard Grade

Day 1: Afternoon arrival, course introduction
Day 2: Impact of tourism in Briançon - examine changes over time, development of tourism, changes in function and settlement structure.
Day 3: Fluvial systems & Landscapes - Visit an outwash stream, travel from glacial source to convergence.
Day 4: White water rafting & Windsurfing
Day 5: Mountain Building - Folding and erosion of sedimentary rocks, review glacial landscape features.
Day 6: Woodland Ecology - investigating local vegetation
Day 7: Depart for journey home.
