French Explorer
Explore Northern France with exciting excursions every day; we can arrange trips to major landmarks and ‘must-see’ places, or even cross-curricular visits to take in significant Art, Science & Technology or History locations.
Activities on offer depend on the PGL centre chosen for the course, however all our centres have an excellent list of activities to challenge and inspire your group.
Most groups choose to intersperse half-days of excursions with half-days of adventure activities - depending on the excursions chosen and the duration of the stay.
For the specific activities available, please see the relevant centre pages from the list below.
This course is also available at:
- Chateau de Grande Romaine
-
Situated just 20 miles from Paris the Château de Grande Romaine is the ideal base from which to explore France’s capital. Students share 4-6 bedded en suite rooms and amenities include excellent study facilities and an outdoor heated pool.
- Chateau du Tertre
-
Located at the crossroads of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire, the recently refurbished Château du Tertre provides an authentic experience of France whilst retaining the benefits of friendliness and security that are PGL’s trademark. Our Language Detectives course is a popular choice at this centre.
- Le Pre Catelan
-
Only 1 hour from Calais this small and friendly centre at Hardelot on the Opal coast is an ideal base for KS3 groups. Originally a 19th century hotel, the location lends itself particularly well to historical interest excursions, being within easy reach of battlefields from Agincourt to WWII.
