Educational Tours : Opal Coast
The Opal Coast provides an excellent introduction to France with an easy journey of just over an hour from Calais. Miles of picturesque coastline, historic towns and elegant French seaside resorts make this destination a favourite for school groups.
Tour Information
In terms of suitable excursions and visits the Opal Coast offers many attractive towns and fishing villages for an authentic flavour of French life.
Further inland the Battlefields and memorials of the Somme highlight the historical significance of the area in The Great War. Whatever the particular interests or age group of your party, there is plenty to do here, from educational tours and study, to relaxing at the local theme parks.
Course Information
As an alternative to a general interest visit, you could choose to follow one of PGL’s specially written courses – from Jeune Journaliste, where your students will act as reporters, gathering information and interviewing; to our Language of Food course where students can learn to cook local specialities from a French chef!
A PGL Area Representative is based in this resort. Our trained representatives are fluent in the local language and have extensive knowledge of the local area and visits. The representative in your area will contact you during your stay to check that everything is running smoothly, and will be on hand to offer help and guidance should you require it.
PGL centre accommodation Le Pré Catelan at Hardelot, less than an hour from Calais on the Opal Coast, is an ideal choice for pupils at KS2 and KS3. It is within easy travelling distance of the UK and just minutes from the beach.
