Motorsports

If you love your excitement with added revs this is your kind of adventure!

What’s it all about?
Learn to ride a motorbike, develop your own go-kart strategy, or tackle our off-road track on a quad bike. You’ll learn basic skills, and improve over the week.

Driving vehicles you’re not normally able to!

Can I do other activities as well?
Yes – every day you’ll also enjoy half a day of activities from our brilliant multi activity programme, plus different entertainment every evening, so you can pack in loads of other new experiences too!

What can I drive?
Depending on your centre and age group, you’ll drive up to three different vehicles. Engine sizes vary from 50cc to 80cc, with speeds limited to suit the conditions.

All centres have quad bikes and motorbikes, with selected centres also having go-karts and a selection of ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles).

What do I learn?
You’ll learn balance, clutch control, and to start and stop safely. We operate time trials, rather than races, to help you monitor your progress. You can also design your own course, using equipment including obstacles, ramps, see-saws and limbo bars.

Do I need any specialist equipment?
We provide all specialist equipment, including goggles, helmets, overalls and other safety equipment.

Schedule Activity
Breakfast Off to the dining room with the rest of your group to fuel up for the day, you’ll need plenty of energy to keep you going. Breakfast includes cereals, toast, yogurts, porridge, and cooked breakfast – you choose!
Don’t forget to refill your drinks bottle before you head off to your first activity
Morning Activities Half day of Motorsports
Lunch Worked up an appetite? Great – it’s time to replenish your energy stores with the dining room. If you have energy to spare after lunch your Group Leader will always be ready for a quick kickabout with a ball or you could relax and chat with your new friends.
Afternoon Activities Climbing and Jacob's Ladder
Dinner Time to eat again – a different menu each day (and did we mention, often evening meals come with a hot pudding too – or you can stick with fruit if you prefer).
Evening Ents Talent shows, campfires, quizzes and much more – your evening entertainment programme gives you the chance to get together with everyone else in your age group and have some laughs.
Bedtime Bedtime. The younger ones go first whilst older groups have time to chill out and chat or watch a DVD. Then it’s lights out and time to sleep ready to do it all over again tomorrow!

Accommodation

The mansion house was built in 1857 and is a rare ‘calendar’ house with four main doors, 12 chimneys and 365 windows. There are two floors of dorms with 8–16 beds per room and toilets/showers nearby. This is usually where the 8–11s, and some 11-13s stay.

The ‘Tall Timbers’ Lodges in the grounds have mainly four or six beds in a room with en-suite showers/toilets. These are normally for 11–13s and 13–16s. The 13–16s will also have their own chill out room.

Tents - Our tents stand on hard, ‘all weather’ bases and each has four proper beds. All the tents are grouped together in their own area of the site which has its own shower and toilet block.

NEW Cabins – Our wooden cabins combine the perfect blend of sleeping in nature and comfort. All the cabins are grouped together in their own cabin village, which has shower and toilet facilities nearby and a central sheltered communal area to relax in.
