Video Games Workshop at marchants hill
Do you love video games and have loads of ideas for a game of your very own? This unique holiday will give you the opportunity to create and develop your own 3D game.
What’s it all about?
This unique holiday will give you the opportunity to create and develop your own 3D game. Using the latest in games design platforms, you can create any kind of first-person game from action adventure to puzzle platformer – the only limit is your imagination!
What do I learn?
We’ll show you how to create your game using state-of-the-art development software. You’ll learn how to create environments, add characters and special effects – even lighting and sound!
There will even be the opportunity to try your brains at AI (Artificial Intelligence) scripting or basic programming.
Do I need any experience?
None at all! We have some really amazing software that will enable even complete beginners to create their own game ready to take home with them at the end of the week.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
We will provide everything, just bring your imagination.

Every day is different
We offer over 50 different activities across all our centres and we pack in as many as possible on every PGL Adventure Holiday. Please note that not all activities are available at all centres; please see the specific centre pages for more information.
The fun doesn’t stop there! We also include fun-packed evening entertainment programmes at all our centres, every day, all year round, whichever holiday you choose.
Our fantastic sports and activity hall offers even more great activities – inside and out. For 13–16 year olds there’s a chill-out room with TV, CD player and pool table – a great place to relax with your friends. Marchants Hill is our only centre that has our unique Powerfan activity.
It also has a recently built lake on-site for raft building and kayaking. If that’s not enough, adrenaline junkies can test their nerves (and stomach!) on the awesome rides at Thorpe Park.
|Breakfast||Off to the dining room with the rest of your group to fuel up for the day, you’ll need plenty of energy to keep you going. Breakfast includes cereals, toast, yogurts, porridge, and cooked breakfast – you choose!
Don’t forget to refill your drinks bottle before you head off to your first activity
|Morning Activities||Half day making Video Games|
|Lunch||Worked up an appetite? Great – it’s time to replenish your energy stores with the dining room. If you have energy to spare after lunch your Group Leader will always be ready for a quick kickabout with a ball or you could relax and chat with your new friends.|
|Afternoon Activities||Abseiling and Aeroball|
|Dinner||Time to eat again – a different menu each day (and did we mention, often evening meals come with a hot pudding too – or you can stick with fruit if you prefer).|
|Evening Ents||Talent shows, campfires, quizzes and much more – your evening entertainment programme gives you the chance to get together with everyone else in your age group and have some laughs.|
|Bedtime||Bedtime. The younger ones go first whilst older groups have time to chill out and chat or watch a DVD. Then it’s lights out and time to sleep ready to do it all over again tomorrow!|
Please note this is a sample itinerary for illustrative purposes only. Itineraries will be planned by the centre shortly before your arrival.
Our fantastic accommodation blocks sleep six in each room and all are en-suite. Younger age groups are normally accommodated in our adjoining annexe, Bethany House, which has en-suite, 6–8 bedded rooms. It’s a couple of minutes walk away with its own dining room, shop and separate chill-out room away from our older guests.
Our 2017 holidays are now available to book. Please see below for available holidays which you can add straight into your basket.
