Bringing Science Outdoors

We think hands-on learning in the great outdoors is a fantastic way for students to enjoy and see Science and Maths in a whole new light. Here are 5 reasons why a PGL Science or Maths course can make learning inspiring, memorable and fun for students:

1. THE OUTDOORS
Classroom theory is a great way to learn the fundamentals, but taking learning outside and into a different environment away from school, offers a different perspective and more opportunities to demonstrate theory in practice on a much larger scale.

2. ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES
For Maths programmes, students can use trigonometry to analyse data from their abseiling session or discover how pulse rates change on the giant swing. Combining adventure activities with study sessions makes learning something new lots of fun and more importantly, memorable.

3. BRILLIANT LOCATIONS
The unique environments in and around our centres make the ideal setting for Science subjects. Whether it's studying marine life in foreshore microhabitats on the Isle of Wight, or investigating fossilisation and erosion on the Jurassic Coast, there really is no substitute for first-hand experience to bring learning to life.

4. FANTASTIC SUPPORT
Whatever level of support you need, PGL Study Course Specialists can help you design the right programme to meet the needs of your students. Our centres are well-equipped to help you deliver an inspirational study course, with all the equipment, facilities and support you'll need to ensure it's time out of the classroom well spent.

5. IT'S GREAT VALUE TOO!
Organising a memorable field trip doesn't need to break the bank. PGL Study Courses include full board accommodation, the use of specialist equipment, adventure activity sessions and an experienced centre team to keep everyone engaged and busy during their stay. (There's also a great 1:8 free teacher place ratio).
