The great outdoors just got greater

As you paddle with your KS3 or KS4 group through crystal clear waters and take in the full impact of this beautiful part of France, it’s an awe-inspiring experience that takes learning to a whole new level. It’s a chance for secondary school students to discover, explore and gain new skills.

But beyond that, it’s the invaluable confidence; the renewed self-belief; the passion to succeed. Because navigating the rapids along the twists and turns of the beautiful Ardèche Gorge, under the watchful eye of highly experienced river teams, is truly a life-changing experience.

Activities

River Adventure

Two days are spent enjoying the 19 mile (30km) descent of the Ardèche River by canoe. After learning the basics, students set off downstream in stages, paddling in small groups, with a dedicated river team ensuring everyone gets the most from their experience. Each sub-group has its own instructor, who will help to build trust and confidence through plenty of individual instruction.

Activity instruction

Our activities are delivered by a mixture of qualified PGL staff and local providers. PGL staff are always on hand to support you and ensure you get the PGL experience you know and love.

An excursion day

Out and about you’ll discover the local area and places of interest - an ideal opportunity for cross-curricular enrichment.

Fun-packed evenings

The fun doesn’t stop when the day’s activities are over. Our centre team leads evening activity sessions for everyone to enjoy.

Accommodation

Students - Purpose-built chalets sleeping up to 6, equipped with modern comfortable bunk beds and electric lighting
Teachers - Twin-bedded chalets with electricity, fridge and hot drinks facilities. Terrace and patio furniture

Chalet villages are positioned in well shaded areas and are ideal for accommodating different groups on site.
