What will I learn?
You’ll begin by learning the baking essentials – how to prepare the kitchen and your workspace and how to use a range of cooking equipment. Our experienced cooks will guide you to create all sorts of goodies, from pastries to cakes and cookies! You'll be using mixers and ovens, learning about weighing, folding, sifting, mixing, glazing and piping at our residential baking camp. We'll also teach you a variety of cooking techniques- from baking to boiling, frying and steaming!

What will I be baking?
Your Bake It holiday will cover a different topic every day so that you will get to cover a range of techniques. The days will include Pastry day, Cake day, Biscuits & scones day, Dessert day, Bread day and The BIG bake day! We will be doing a little work each day towards the final big bake so that it really has the WOW factor!

Is previous baking experience required?
No, our experienced cooks will pass on their knowledge so you can develop from any level of experience.

Do I need any special equipment?
No, we will provide you with a full range of cooking equipment and aprons. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes, long trousers, tie hair back and remove jewellery in order to participate.

My child has dietary requirements, can they still participate?
Please let our team know with plenty of notice if your child has any dietary requirements and we will always try our best to accommodate where possible. For example we can swap meat and dairy products for vegan/vegetarian alternatives.

NEW for Easter 2024 - try out our Bake It Camp by adding a half day workshop to your Multi-Activity adventure.

Ps - to create the best camp experience for kids attending occasionally we will combine adjacent age groups on selected activity sessions. This does not include rooming or pastoral groups.
