Parent and Child English Language Programme

January, February & April 2020

English language, culture and adventure for juniors and their parents

Our mixed nationality programme for children and parents provides classroom-based study and adventure activities for children combined with excursions where they practise their language skills and develop their vocabulary and understanding in real-life situations.

Parents attend adult English language lessons and accompany their children on all excursions and enjoy a cultural programme of activities while their children enjoy outdoor adventure activities.

We are accredited by the British Council for the Teaching of English in the UK, and all our residential centres are managed by trained and experienced PGL staff.

How does it work?

English Classes for children: Children receive 15 hours of teaching each week in enjoyable, interactive classes with no more than 15 in each class. All teachers are CELTA (or equivalent) qualified.

English Classes for parents: Parents enjoy their own separate English language lessons from CELTA (or equivalent) qualified teachers.

Cultural Excursions: Two full-days and a half-day each week are allocated for excursions to world-famous landmarks and historical sites. These visits allow children, accompanied by parents, to improve their fluency and confidence in English, while seeing the sites, or even doing some shopping. PGL centre staff lead each excursion and provide support, information and the benefit of their local knowledge.

Adventure Activities: Every PGL centre has an exciting range of on-site adventure activities such as climbing and abseiling, zip wire, giant swing, raft-building and canoeing - all supervised by experienced English speaking activity instructors. Your students can develop their conversational English while enjoying fun, outdoor activities.

Cultural Activity Programme for parents: Parents take part in activities such as baking, local wildlife walk and traditional crafts while their children enjoy outdoor adventure activities.

Evening Entertainment: Every evening our teams provide an entertainment programme filled with games, quizzes and other activities to keep the group occupied. There is also the potential for children to mix with English-speaking children and further develop their English skills.
