Winter English Language Programme
for juniors aged 7-17
English language, culture and adventure for juniors
Our winter programme for juniors combines classroom-based study with exciting excursions where students practise their language skills and develop their vocabulary and understanding in real-life situations.
Add some fun adventure activities, such as climbing, abseiling and archery, and it all adds up to an experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
We are accredited by the British Council for the Teaching of English in the UK, and all our residential centres are managed by trained and experienced PGL staff.
How does it work?
Fixed duration and dates: – Sunday arrivals and departures. (minimum 1 week - maximum 6 weeks)
English Classes: Students receive 15 hours of teaching each week in enjoyable, interactive classes with no more than 15 students per class. All teachers are CELTA (or equivalent) qualified.
Cultural Excursions: Two full-days and a half-day each week are allocated for excursions; one to London and one to either Oxford, Windsor, Bath or Stratford-upon-Avon. These visits allow students to improve their fluency and confidence in English, while seeing the sites, or even doing some shopping. PGL centre staff lead each excursion and provide support, information and the benefit of their local knowledge.
Adventure Activities: Every PGL centre has an exciting range of on-site adventure activities such as climbing and abseiling, zip wire, giant swing, raft-building and canoeing - all supervised by experienced English-speaking activity instructors. Your students develop their conversational English while enjoying fun, outdoor activities.
Evening Entertainment: Every evening our teams provide an entertainment programme filled with games, quizzes and other activities to keep the group occupied. There is also the potential for students to mix with English-speaking children and further develop their English skills.
