About Jugendgästehaus Zirmhof

The JGH Zirmhof is a modern, purpose built hotel, designed with school groups in mind. It is located on the valley floor, 200m from the nearest lift and 3km from the centre of Saalbach. The free ski bus stops right outside the hotel.

Beginners use the beginners area next to the Schönleiten lift on the first day, and then progress to the babylift at the middle station.

More experienced skiers can use the gondola to access the whole of the Saalbach/Hinterglemm valley.


The spacious hotel has 134 beds in 38 rooms over 3 floors. Students are generally accommodated in 2-8 bedded rooms. Teachers are mainly accommodated in 2-4 bedded rooms. Adult rooms are equipped with a TV, hairdryer and safe. All rooms are en suite. Many of the rooms have a balcony.

Breakfast is served buffet style. A packed lunch is provided for the slopes and the 3-course evening meal is served with a salad buffet. Tap water is available with all meals on request.

A damage deposit of €500 is payable on arrival.

Intermediates will enjoy the beautiful tree-lined pistes on both sides of the valley and the open snowfields above Hinterglemm. Experts will find some steep and bumpy challenges, especially on the formidable Zwölfer run from the top of Hinterglemm at almost 2000 metres down to the bottom of the valley. Meanwhile, for beginners the nursery slopes are close to both village centres, with a range of good, easy runs higher up.
