for Schools and Groups
Ski to the sound of music
Ideal for groups who want to combine a cultural experience with the thrill of skiing! Stay in the historic city of Salzburg with its many sights and attractions and ski the impressive Ski Amadé - one of the largest ski areas in Austria stretching from the Dachstein glacier in the East to Maria Alm in the West. A total of 860 km of piste with over 360 runs and 270 lifts.
Salzburg, one of Europe’s most picturesque cities with the imposing Hohensalzburg fortress and the splendour of the surrounding Austrian Alps forming a glorious backdrop to the historic old town with the musical legacy of Mozart’s birthplace, the tranquil Mirabel gardens and the slow flowing river Salzach. Take a sleigh ride around the city centre, visit the Mozart museum or simply have a walk along the famous shopping alley Getreidegasse and through the traditional Christmas markets.
The World cup ski resort of Flachau, birthplace of the famous Austrian skier Hermann Maier, can be reached in 45 mins (70km) from Salzburg city centre. Beginners are taught at the top of the modern “8er Jet” gondola, whilst more experienced skiers can explore further afield and visit Wagrain to the west. Later in the week groups can choose to ski from Flachuwinkl which has access to Zauchensee and Kleinarl.
The programme includes 12 hrs of ski instruction which can take place for 2 hours each morning leaving the afternoons free for visits to the many attractions in and around Salzburg such as the Salt Mines in Hallein or walk on the frozen Mondsee. Alternatively you may prefer to have 3 days of ski lessons for 4 hours per day and 3 days free to explore the region.
