Pony Camp Beginner
Pony-mad fun, no experience required - six half days of horse riding + six half days of Multi Activity
If you are mad about horses and love outdoor activities too, we have the perfect horseback riding camp for you!
Each day you will be split into ability-based groups and by the end of the week you can expect to be confident around horses, have honed your riding skills and be able to look after their basic needs. This holiday is a great starting point to then progress to our Improver and Trekker Pony Camps. Parents beware! Full pony-addiction 100% guaranteed!
What is included?
Our Horse Camps for beginners include 6 x half-days of riding lessons at Grove Farm Riding School (Windmill Hill) or Pencoed Riding School (Boreatton Park), with the opportunity to hack out in the local countryside once more confident. Our BHS & Pony Club approved instructors will also lead you through training in all aspects of pony care – grooming, tacking up and stable management. Please note: Riding sessions will be split by ability, therefore friends travelling together won't necessarily be grouped together.
Is previous experience required?
No previous riding experience necessary, this holiday will start from the very basics, but within a week you'll have developed confidence and knowledge to go further if you wish!
Do I need any specialist equipment?
We’ll provide all the specialist equipment you need, but you must bring a pair of shoes or boots with a heel. You can bring your own jockey skullcap, but this must conform to BSI safety standards.
Ps - to create the best camp experience for kids attending occasionally we will combine adjacent age groups on selected activity sessions. This does not include rooming or pastoral groups. During off-site activities in public areas children will be escorted by a member of our PGL team at all times.
Activities
Every day is different
Every day you get to spend half your day trying out a selection of different activities from our brilliant Multi-Activity programme such as climbing and canoeing. The other half of your day is spent riding and caring for your horse at one of our brilliant specialist riding centres (a short bus drive away). Please note that not all activities are available at all centres; please see the specific centre pages for more information.
Evening activities - the fun doesn’t stop there!
We also include fun-packed evening activities programmes at all our centres, every day, all year round, whichever holiday you choose.
