About Beam House
Beam House is a 17th century manor house in a beautiful wooded valley near the coast of North Devon, bordered on three sides by the river Torridge. It’s not far from the beach and surf school at Westward Ho!, so it’s an ideal place for students who want to go bodyboarding or learn to surf.
All the other adventure activities are on your doorstep in the centre grounds and students enjoy comfortable accommodation in the cosy mansion house.

Groups are accommodated in the 16th century mansion house
- Students – Rooms with bunk beds sleep 8-16 with showers and toilets located close by

Activities available
Students participate in an exciting range of adventure activities including surfing and bodyboarding at the surf school at Westward Ho!, a short coach ride from the centre - all supervised by experienced English-speaking instructors.
These activity sessions give your students ideal opportunities to develop fluency and conversational English as they interact with their instructors, peers and the other guests on centre.

Food
Healthy food, lots of choice
We’ll give your group plenty of choice at mealtimes and can provide advice on the different options available.
Balanced nutrition
Our meals are all freshly prepared and come with fresh fruit at every meal and our salad bar at lunch and dinner. If they’re still hungry, no problem, we can always provide extra portions.

If any members of your group have special dietary requirements, just speak to a member of our friendly catering team and let us take care of any special requests you may have.
