About Château du Tertre
The 19th century Château du Tertre stands in unspoilt countryside at the crossroads of Normandy, Brittany and the Loire. The rich heritage of the area offers outstanding learning possibilities for your primary school group through exposure to French language and French culture.
Your pupils can take in some history with a visit to the Bayeux Tapestry, test their French at a local boulangerie or try ordering and enjoying a traditional French crêpe. It truly is a cultural adventure to awaken all the senses!
The huge grounds at Château du Tertre itself are filled with free adventure activities to add a different dimension to your pupils’ learning experience.
Watch them try something new and challenge themselves as they work together and enjoy the wide variety of adventures on land and water. We’ve even got boules pitches for something that little bit different.

Our centres in northern France offer a fantastic range of delicious food choices for you and your group to enjoy. We source fresh, regional produce whenever we can and you’ll always find a cultural flavour to our menus. If a member of your group has a specific dietary requirement or is particularly choosy about what they eat, we will always prepare something suitable. And if they’d like some more to eat, we can offer alternatives and extra food.
Encouraging healthy eating
You’ll always find a good selection of seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables on offer every day. A range of salads is available at lunch and dinner time and fresh fruit is available at every meal.
A Continental feel
We like to provide a balance by providing food which is familiar but also by giving you an opportunity to try food with a distinctly French flavour too – why not try some snails?
