All Aboard
All aboard is all about building trust and strengthening peer relationships – at the top of a 6 metre pole! Teams of up to four pupils scale the pole to reach the small platform at the top. Balancing on the platform becomes more difficult as more team members arrive to share the space. The challenge is to cooperate and support each other. The task is complete when all four team members successfully stand together at the top of the pole. Weight limit: 150kg

The PGL Challenge Course is legendary – it’s a well-loved and popular activity with plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved; it can even get quite competitive sometimes! As your pupils negotiate the various obstacles that lie ahead, it’s an experience that will promote teamwork, lateral thinking, problem solving and decision-making – as well as being physically challenging too.

Laser Tag
The wide-open landscapes at our adventure centres offer the ultimate backdrop to a team laser tag battle. Working in teams, your group will head off equipped with their own laser gun and vest. No risk is an acceptable level of risk, which is why we go beyond to ensure every young person is always in safe hands.
Everything we do is built on five protective pillars:
Safe People
All our staff are rigorously selected for their capabilities, DBS checked. fully trained and continually assessed to ensure they meet the highest safety standards possible.
Safe Places
Our sites and buildings are managed to reduce all possible risk before any child arrives. including segmented accommodation, secure perimeters and stringent equipment standards.
Safe Spaces
Every child is different so to make our environments as encompassing as possible every colleague is SEND trained. we offer language inclusivity and offer over-and above access for all We also operate a zero-tolerance policy on illegal practices.
Safeguarding
Trained to act as ‘first-responders’ to safeguarding red flags, PGL colleagues are versed in spotting risks (across mental health. self-harm sexual and physical wellbeing) and acting quickly to escalate any concerns or stop harmful behaviour.
Safe Travels
Every travel partner with whom we work is vetted to ensure they have strict safety management systems in place. specifically focused on travelling with young people. We also aim to ensure travel provision is adaptable to the needs of every single child.

Yes, we recommend that your child brings a waterproof for their time at Newby Wiske Hall. If it starts raining while we’re all enjoying the outdoor adventure activities, everyone in the group can just throw on their waterproof and we’ll simply carry on!
Does my child need to bring money?
As we have a gift shop on site, your child can bring money if they’d like to buy a souvenir to take home. For the amount, we suggest £10 per child, in cash or on a pre-paid card. There’s so much to choose from at our gift shop, with caps t-shirts, teddy bears, mugs, pens, and even a uniformed group badge so your child can show everyone that they’ve been to PGL with their group!
Can I contact my child during their camp stay?
Absolutely! If your child is bringing a mobile phone to Newby Wiske Hall then they can give you a call during their free time. You can find the times when children are able to use their phones at our centres in our Mobile Phone Policy. If your child doesn’t have their phone available, then our team are always available to support them if they would like to call home. You can also get in touch with your child by calling the Newby Wiske Hall centre or through the contact numbers provided by your child’s group leader.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements?
We do cater for special dietary requirements. Whether for religious, cultural or medical reasons, we can support your child’s or anyone in your group’s diet. When you book, just let us know and we’ll take it from there. We regularly provide meals for coeliacs, diabetics, guests with food allergies and vegetarians/vegans.
