School sports trips are a great way to develop many of your students’ skills that can be adapted to the classroom environment for more effective learning. Through teambuilding exercises, your students can learn to work together to overcome tasks and challenges, which is an effective tool when collaborating back at school.

Trips like these involve many fun and competitive activities, which is an excellent match for your sports students! Netball Tournaments and Football Coaching Weekends are available at selected centres across the UK, with a range of activities to accompany your trip.

PGL Sports Weekends

At PGL, we offer many options for school sports trips, including netball tournaments and football coaching.

Netball Tournaments

We provide School Netball Tournaments, at four of our centres, for students in years 7-11. Exclusively officiated by England Netball, your players will compete with other schools over a series of intensive matches. These tournaments provide an exciting and competitive school sports trip where your team can evolve. Once the tournament is finished, there will be a special presentation of medals and trophies by a Vitality Rose or a Vitality Superleague Star!

A netball sports weekend is a great opportunity to bring your sports team for some fun! It can help develop peer relationships within the group, which is beneficial when back in the classroom.

Football Coaching

Our residential sports weekends are perfect for students in a school football team too! With a Football Coaching programme available at two of our centres, your aspiring athletes can score goals to their heart's content! Your players will also have the chance to be trained by our UEFA B (FA) qualified coaches to help improve their football skills even further.

Sports weekends allow your students to enjoy doing the sports they love while also developing core skills that are useful for classroom learning.

After these sessions, your school sports teams could enjoy other PGL activities, enhancing their leadership skills and boosting morale. Here are some of our activities at PGL that may be available during your school sports trip:

Aeroball

Time to release all that energy! Your students will learn the ins and outs of this unique game before springing into action. Aeroball combines trampolining, basketball and volleyball, creating a sport that improves communication amongst players.

Rifle Shooting

Maximum concentration is needed to be a sharpshooter in this activity. Our lightweight air rifles test individual skill and control - who has the steadiest hand in your class? Rifle Shooting is an activity available at many of our centres and could be the first time many of your students have tried this sport.

Archery

Accuracy, control and a steady hand are vital for achieving the best results and many children discover a talent for a new skill. Handling bows and arrows may be a brand new experience for your students and presents a variety of new challenges! We encourage safety awareness from the outset and teach the basic skills on an indoor or outdoor range.
