Here at PGL, we're proud to offer a fantastic selection of activities that enable your pupils to have fun whilst embracing a wealth of rich learning opportunities, helping develop their personal and academic skillset.
Our impressive catalogue of activities means you'll be stuck for choice, as there really is something for everyone. Whether your pupils love the thrill of epic adventures or prefer something more relaxed, today we're excited to share 5 of the most stimulating activities that will wow your students whilst helping develop their core cognitive skills.
All-Terrain Vehicles
This thrilling activity will give pupils the exciting opportunity to drive their first motorised vehicle. Two pupils will be strapped into one of our all-terrain vehicles (ATV), where they will learn how to steer, accelerate, brake and navigate the track. As one pupil takes the wheel, the other must guide the driver around the track, improving their coordination and communication skills. The driver will need to concentrate on the track and remain calm around the bends while working with their partner to ensure a safe lap.
Bridge Abseiling
New and exclusive to Ford Castle, this activity will be one for the thrillseekers. Beginning at the top of a bridge, where they will then slowly descend backwards, using their feet and rope to lower them to ground level. An activity like this will help create stronger relationships with their peers, as pupils encourage and support classmates through the challenge. Pupils will also need to put trust in their peers as they help to hold the rope on the valley floor.
Aeroball
Aeroball is an exhilarating, high-energy game which incorporates aspects of trampolining, basketball and volleyball. In this four-player activity, players must attempt to get the ball into the opposition net.
As well as being a great exercise for pupils, it is also extremely fun and challenging, encouraging teamwork as they work together to defeat the opposing team. Great communication is also necessary so teams can come up with tactics to help them triumph. This will be sure to bring out the competitive nature of some pupils whilst emphasising the importance of sportsmanship.
Challenge Course
This is another physically challenging activity which can promote healthy competition throughout your classes. Pupils must attempt to make their way over the various obstacles and make it to the end of the course, thinking about how they plan to get across in the most efficient way possible. Such a course requires lateral thinking and decision-making skills to succeed in this challenge as pupils think of unique ways to overcome obstacles.
Dragon Boating
Dragon boating encourages pupils to work together to defeat their fellow classmates in a friendly race on the water. Up to 24 pupils can take part in this activity as they learn to paddle in synchrony and discover the best techniques in order to become the fastest team. Teams must demonstrate great coordination and cooperation on the boats in order for them to understand the tactics required to give them the advantage in the race.
We're confident these 5 engaging and thrilling activities will make your pupils' school trip one to remember as they descend from great heights, a battle on the waves and tear up the track on our four-wheeled buggies, all while developing their current skills and learning new ones.
